does just like cleaning your room or walking around the house or store count as exercise?

January 25th, 2011

so i hear you should get 1 hour of exercise a day. does that mean 1 hour of running around, playing sports, or sit ups? or can it just be done by doing everyday tasks like walking around school, vacuuming, cleaning your room and making food?

Is eating to fit in with others more important then your health?

The pig can be called nature’s vacuum cleaner. It is not affected by many toxins that would kill other animals in a heartbeat, and those toxins that do kill them would have to be consumed in vast quantities to result in the death of the animal. The mechanism which allows the animal this bizarre and enviable resistance to poisons is the way its body grows and produces flesh and fat, and stores things in that fat.Pigs put on flesh at several times the rate that other human-consumed animals do. The body of the pig forces any toxins the pig consumes into the flesh, and stores and locks them there. When we eat the meat of a pig, we take in all the toxins that are stored in the fat of the pig. There was an instance in which a farmer ordered the a large quantity of cow liver to feed to his animals. The company providing the liver accidentally sent the farmer the pig liver instead. All the animals that ate the pig liver died quickly and painfully of a colorful variety of things. Some developed cancer within a few days. Some suffered digestive tract disturbances so great that they bled to death. The consumption of pork is forbidden in various religions world-wide. For a while, we did not understand why the animals were considered "unclean", but, now, modern science is showing us just how unclean the pigs truly are.Pigs are often infested with trichina, parasitic roundworms. These roundworms are often passed on to humans when pork is not properly cooked. Trichina are found in the highest concentrations amongst animals in pigs and similar animals. "Well," you might say. "The companies add antibiotics to the feed of the pigs. Trichina is no problem for me and pigs in modern society."Note the way pigs store toxins; that is, as fat or loose muscle tissue. The antibiotics and hormones, essentially, are toxins, and the pigs’ bodies recognize them as such. The pollutants are stored in the fat or muscle
tissue, and are not cooked out during processing or filtered out when you eat them. Contrary, they stay in the meat for extended periods of time (as they were designed to stay in the feed for a long time; otherwise, the pork industry might have an unexpected outbreak of trichina or similar parasites.), and accumulate in your body.

How to keep the bed clean when the person sleeping in it is incontinent?

December 31st, 2010

My mother (age 55) has stress incontinence. She pees when she laughs, sneezes, or coughs. In the past, when she’s had a cold, I’ve bought her the extra-long super maxi pads (like the kind women use after childbirth) and that’s done the trick.

For the past few months, though, she’s been coughing nonstop. I’m pretty sure she’s developed chronic bronchitis (she has the classic symptoms), but she won’t see a doctor about it.

I’ve tried to allergen-proof her room in an effort to reduce the amount of coughing. I did a thorough cleaning, bought an expensive HEPA filtration vacuum cleaner, encased her mattress and box spring with impenetrable covers, and bought her a new washable mattress pad to replace the soiled and non-washable egg crate foam one she had.

The amount of coughing has gone down, but it’s still there.

I took her sheets off her bed to wash them today. There was a giant urine stain on the mattress pad. I was admittedly upset; it’s brand new. She says she didn’t pee the bed (obviously she did), and that she’s been wearing the maxi pads I bought her. I don’t think she notices when she pees in her sleep. And she’s been sleeping on the urine-soaked mattress pad for a week.

Next time I go to the store I’m going to buy her some adult diapers for nighttime use. But I wouldn’t be surprised if she pees through them.

How do I keep the bed clean? I don’t think washing all the bedding every day is going to be feasible.
She has depression and anxiety problems, but she refuses to see a doctor about them, too. She’s physically capable of caring for herself, but she’s pretty much apathetic about everything, and chooses not to.

Working and pregnant?

November 10th, 2010

I’m 5 weeks pregnant and I work in a great environment, a scrap book retail store. I’ve worked there before until my husband was stationed at Fort Riley and we had to move, but the owners of the store are like family and treat me well. Anyways, at the end of the day the clean up chores after closing are divided so that everyone has an equal share. Problem being that so far since I’ve found out I’m pregnant I’ve been doing all the chores because the other girls I work with leave or they sit there and discuss "business" with the owners. The cleaning involved vacuuming a large 1500 square foot store, cleaning with bleach in the bathroom, and other cleaning solutions that I know pregnant women are not supposed to handle. I hate to complain to them, but I have heard that messing with cleaning supplies and over working yourself can cause a miscarriage. What can I do?

Here are some outrageous and real laws!!!?

In the eyes of my ex-wife – I will never do anything right? Help calm me down please….?

November 3rd, 2010

My 2 boys needed a bed so I bought one from a good quality 2nd. hand store and I gave them my bed frame off my bed. Made a mistake and not realize it until I am at her apt. putting the bed frame together for the bed to go on. My bed frame was a full size, but I bought a queen mattress and box springs by mistake – which is only 6 inches difference. Well, when I told the ex about my mistake I made, she started saying stuff like – "Well, there you go again doing things half a**. we can’t depend on you for nothing!! Don’t leave it here – I don’t want it…" Well, after I brought it to her on the top of my car which is 45 miles away, she made me load it back on my car and tie it back down. During all this time, she asked me to help her put the vacuum cleaner back together, fix a couple other things and never did I once say anything negative towards her. To make a Long story short, I never matched up to what she thought a man should provide….I had time w/ my boys some though…….

Has anyone used this 2 in 1 vacuum?

October 30th, 2010

http://www.walgreens.com/store/product.jsp?CATID=100775&navAction=jump&navCount=1&id=prod3200280
I saw these vacuums at Walgreen’s the other day, i saw a commercial for something similar years ago, but i never could find one.. has anyone tried one of these? would it be worth the . Or does anyone maybe know a more known company that makes a similar type vacuum? it doesn’t have to be cordless, but its a nice plus. i just like the idea of being able to vacuum up around the house, and stop to clean the windows and stuff without fussing with a hose.

Is this typical behavior for a baby?

October 27th, 2010

1. My 10 month old is OBSESSED with exit signs, fans, watching things boil on the stove, and the vacuum cleaner! If he sees any of these things he cannot stop "talking" about them or pointing to them. He will seriously point at them 20 or so times and say "Ba" (his word for everything he can’t say) and excitedly kick his legs and want to see it up close, and sometimes if he can’t see it up close he gets very frustrated. Makes shopping with him a bit difficult because he is constantly pointing at things wanting to go see them.

2. Once he gets something in his mind he can’t seem to get it out – for instance tonight he saw his cousin’s sippy cup on the table and pointed at it/fussed for it for about 20 minutes in between bites before we figured he was finished eating and let him get down from the table to play (and to get the sippy cup out of sight).

3. He is always pointing at things wanting to know their names, and when I tell him he stares at my mouth like he is trying to remember it. He understands about 100 words (can only say 8 or 9 though).

4. He is ALWAYS moving…the only time he is ever still is when he is asleep! Even if he is nursing he usually has his legs kicking. He hates his car seat, highchair (after about 5-10 minutes), stroller, and grocery carts and wants to be held in the store rather than sit in the seat. Although he’d probably prefer to crawl around the entire store rather than be carried!

5. He is scared of things that make loud noises (except the vacuum cleaner!)

6. He will rarely let anyone except mommy or daddy hold him (and occasionally grandma). If my family tries to hold him he’ll cling to me for dear life. He doesn’t see them very often, but they still get a little offended I can tell.

The reason why I am asking this is because sometimes I feel like I am doing something wrong. My only goal is to be the best mom possible, but around my family sometimes I feel like they think he is a spoiled brat because he’ll fuss at a restaurant and not want anyone else to hold him (or sometimes even talk to him!), or cry in his stroller at the store and not just be happy to sit for a while and observe things like it seems other babies do. If I’m doing something wrong and this isn’t normal for a baby I want to know so I can change! Thank you.
ps – I’m not giving the "Thumbs Down" to anyone…its not me!
I do not think my baby is autistic at all – he makes EXCELLENT eye contact, smiles a TON, started pointing at things 2 months ago, said dada at 5 months, mama at 7 (and knows who is who) along with 6-7 other words. Babbles all the time, responds 99% of the time to his name, waves and says "bye-bye", and can follow simple instructions like "put the toy in the drawer" or "give mama a kiss".

My question is more or less am I SPOILING him! Its about whether I am doing something wrong, not if something is wrong with him.

Dose this paragraph make you think twice about eating swine?

October 26th, 2010

Every one know that in the Bible God says do not eat scavengers,He also says all animals are good to be eaten. There it is He says all animals! But wait what the text really says, all animals for which God created to be eaten are now good to be consumed. I didn’t know there were animals God created not to be consumed? Yes those that are scavengers and placed here to clean the earth, they are good animals but not good to be eaten. I am guilty my self i can’t resist those lil creatures that clean the ocean floor of waist and disease. But worst than those are the land creatures that are here to clean up things here were we live today. You wouldn’t go out and eat a vulture after knowing it spent its entire life eating the dead. Then why would you eat swine knowing they eat the trash from this earth to. God made them so that they wont be hurt by digesting waist and disease. They pick it up off the earth so we don’t get sick, storing it in there flesh were its meant to stay. People blame God for sickness and disease but were the ones who go against His health laws. He created these flesh bodies and knows whats best for them. To break a health law is not a sin to death, but instead a sin to health God wont punish people for being ignorant and disobeying them. We have already have done plenty of harm to our selves on our own part. People blame God for sickness and disease but were the ones who go against His health laws. Is it bad to keep a vacuum in an outdoor closet?

October 24th, 2010

I live in an apartment and have little room to store my vacuum cleaner, however i have an outdoor closet which has plenty of room for it. The closet is not sealed around the edges of the door frame so the vacuum would be exposed to humidity but not rain. Would it be bad to keep my vacuum in the outdoor closet?

Dyson DC24 picks up a little but nothing in canister?

October 20th, 2010

I have to multiple times take a part my dyson to clean out the stupid hose it has become a hassle! It will suck things up not great, but does. The thing is nothing gets into the canister…NOTHING! What is wrong with this stupid vacuum? Should I just call Dyson? If I had my receipt this vacuum would for sure be going back the store.

Thanks.

Hello, I am writing a play and need a theme song?

October 18th, 2010

The play is about a giant pedophile squid that attacks candy stores and shoots hot jelly beans at small kids to get them stuck and then he takes them to his lair and makes them listen Nickleback and then they aren’t heard from ever again and this repeats and repeats until the squid is destroyed by a robot vacuum cleaner. Any songs which are similar to my story line would be greatly appreciatesd.

Why does the sound of the vacuum cleaner make me insane?

October 11th, 2010

I can’t stand it, the noise is so loud I can’t hear myself think and my dad spends so long doing it I end up punching the doors, slamming them, shouting, swearing. Throwing things. Nothing else has ever had such an effect on me it really is the worse sound I’ve ever heard. It even gives me a headache. My dad now has to apologize to me for using the vacuum which is ridiculous! He wont wait until I’m out the house to do this you know what parents are like always having to do chores in the morning, I don’t understand why it always has to be done so early! We used to have a really old one when I was in care that made a soft whining noise nothing like this so called state of the art monstrosity! I’d gladly go out and buy one that didn’t make so much noise. Is there one you can get in England that’s not so bad? It seems strange we can put man on the moon but cannot create a quiet vacuum cleaner or at least one that doesn’t make me insane! I can’t really go into a store and test them all to see how they sound before buying. There’s gotta be a solution, I don’t think you can sound proof the vacuum.

Leviticus 11:2-4, 7-8"These are the creatures that you may eat from among all the animals that are upon the land. Everything that possesses a split hoof, which is fully cloven, and that brings up its cud — this you may eat. But this is what you shall not eat from what brings up its cud or possesses split hooves — the camel, because it brings up its cud but does not possess split hooves…and the pig, because it has split hooves that are completely cloven, but it does not bring up its cud — it is impure to you and from its flesh you may not eat.
"Isaiah 65:4 who sit among the graves and spend their nights keeping secret vigil; who eat the flesh of pigs, and whose pots hold broth of unclean meat;
Isaiah 66:17 "Those who consecrate and purify themselves to go into the gardens, following the one in the midst of those who eat the flesh of pigs and rats and other abominable things–they will meet their end together," declares the LORD."

How can I install an alarm that will only go off during a blackout?

October 9th, 2010

I have a UPS, but typical blackouts outlast the power stored in it. I would like to know when it is working (I do not have easy access to it), so that I can turn off things that would drain the battery unnecessarily, like a microwave, coffeepot, vacuum cleaner, etc.
I guess it should not be too hard, but my knowledge of electricity is quite low.

I guess the same principle would also work for a light. Any pointers?

Where can I rent a steam cleaner in Ohio?

October 5th, 2010

A lot of similar questions have been asked on here but the answers given point to carpet CLEANING machines. I’m looking for a vacuum that has STEAMING capabilities. The machines in the grocery stores like Rug Doc. are just shampoo machines with scrubbing brushes. Thanks for any help!

What is the best kind of vacuum cleaner I can buy?

October 2nd, 2010

One that is less than 100 bucks, that I can find easily in a common retail store and most importantly that is NOT LOUD and does not weigh a ton. If you have one that fits that criteria please let me know and based on your experience using it, how do you like it.

I could use all the help I can get becuase I have not had good luck with vacuums. Either they are too heavy or I have to wear ear plugs when using them.

Ten points best answer. Thanks everyone
Danny your answer has NOTHING to do with my question. Read the question please.

Does using a band that's too small hurt a vacuum cleaner?

September 28th, 2010

The band on my vacuum broke, and I couldn’t find a store nearby that had the appropriate replacement. I bought one that looked about the same size. When I got it home I realized it’s about 1/2 inch smaller than the one the vacuum came with. I was able to stretch it enough to hook it up. My vacuum works great, but I’m wondering whether I could somehow damage the vacuum, like burn out a motor or something. Is it OK?
